Fast Fashion; What is it?
Many companies recycle torn, thrown out, and clothes from the dump to remake the clothing. These factories remake them with the result of a dangerous amount of carbon being thrown into the air.
Fast Fashion is the act of replacing already made clothing for much cheaper versions, usually when demand for a product is at its highest.
Approximately 81% of all clothing that is thrown out gets sent to landfills all over America. That is around 6% of all waste thrown out. Some may think that the clothing will just decompose and it wont be a big deal but it is! It takes around 200+ years just for one piece of clothing to decompose fully. Also most clothes contain Carbon Dioxide which when burned, gets sent into the atmosphere and accelerates global warming. Burning clothes is a horrible way for companies to reuse them.
Our goal is to reduce the amount of clothing that gets thrown into landfills and/or into the ocean.
